"CourseGPT Workshop" Held for Faculty of Medicine Faculty Members in Cooperation with OpenAI, the AI Competency Unit and CLT

The "CourseGPT Workshop" was held on 14 January 2026 for faculty members of the Faculty of Medicine in cooperation with OpenAI, the Artificial Intelligence Competency Unit and the Center for Learning and Teaching (CLT). Within the scope of the event, participants had the opportunity to develop their own AI assistants similar to CourseGPT using OpenAI infrastructure, and explored the potential of artificial intelligence in personalizing the learning experience and designing interactive educational activities.

The aim of the workshop was stated as strengthening faculty members' competencies in designing AI assistants suited to their own course contexts, configuring them in line with ethical principles, planning in-class use scenarios and carrying out quality checks. During the training, faculty members first gained theoretical knowledge and then learned through hands-on practice how to personalize CourseGPT; in this way, the focus was on how AI-supported learning tools can be used effectively from a pedagogical perspective in medical education. When used correctly, artificial intelligence will continue to position itself as a tool that supports physicians' decision-making processes, deepens learning and strengthens medical education.
